Following the results of the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that the sides agreed on the implementation of joint projects in the defense industry.

‘It is time for strategic decisions. Strong and lasting support for Ukraine will bring victory and the end of the war closer,’ the minister said.

Kuleba emphasized that Europe requires an urgent strengthening via the creation of a common space of the defense industries of Europe, which will unite the industry of the Euro-Atlantic community and like-minded countries.

He reminded that in September, Ukraine held a successful Defense Industries Forum, which gathered 252 leading defense companies of the world and initiated dozens of partnerships.

The minister noted that Ukraine currently needs aircraft, improved means of radio-electronic warfare, counter-battery capabilities, new anti-mine technologies, and extended training opportunities.

He also expressed gratitude to NATO countries for the military support to Ukraine and welcomed the creation of the air defense coalition.

On October 6, the Administrative Cassation Court within the Supreme Court of Ukraine continued hearing case No. 990/80/25, in which the fifth President and leader of the party “European Solidarity”, Petro Poroshenko, seeks to have Presidential Decree No. 81/2025 from February 12, 2025 — enacting sanctions by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) — declared illegal and annulled. The plaintiff claims the document was falsified and that the sanctions are a tool of political persecution of the opposition, contrary to international norms. Government representatives deny the allegations and insist their actions were lawful. Journalists of Bukvy were present at the hearing.
