On May 27, in Madrid, President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez signed a bilateral agreement on security cooperation.

Zelensky noted that this year Spain will provide Ukraine with the military aid worth one billion euros. In addition, the country will allocate 5 billion euros for the period 2024-2027 through the Aid Fund for Ukraine within the framework of the European Peace Fund.

‘Humanitarian aid, economic recovery and reconstruction, support for Ukrainian reforms on the way to membership in the EU and NATO and our Peace Formula, strengthening of sanctions against Russia – all these areas of cooperation are outlined in our agreement,’ Zelensky stated.

The president expressed gratitude to Spain for tangible and truly life-saving support of Ukraine at this time of war.

On July 12, at the NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 countries agreed on a joint declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.

The G7 leaders noted that other countries wishing to contribute to these efforts aimed at ensuring a free, strong, independent and sovereign Ukraine can join the Declaration at any time.
