Ukraine claps back at Slovak president’s controversial “territorial concessions” remark

Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs swiftly responded to Slovak President Peter Pellegrini’s recent statement suggesting that Ukraine might need to make territorial concessions to achieve peace with Russia.
President Pellegrini’s comment implied Ukraine “must accept partial territorial losses” to end the ongoing war.
The suggestion drew a quick response from Georgiy Tykhyi, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whose pointed response reminded Pelligrini of Slovakia’s own history:
“The last time Slovak land was handed over to an aggressor in the name of peace, it didn’t end well. It brought neither peace to Slovakia nor to other nations,” Tykhyi emphasized.
This remark alludes to the WW2 times of Hitler’s aggressive campaigns and warns against repeating the mistakes of the past that proved so costly to European nations.
Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value. In other words, every Ukrainian, buying goods of any value and purpose abroad, when sending them to Ukraine, will have to pay an additional fifth part, or 20% of the cost of the goods.
