March 25 is the Day of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The Day was introduced in accordance with the Presidential Decree dated March 22, 2001.

President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the SBU employees, stressing that the effectiveness of the Security Service of Ukraine as one of the key elements bringing victory closer.

The president noted that we ‘rely on the strength of the SBU in protection against enemy operations against the internal unity of Ukraine’. Zelensky expressed his gratitude to all SBU employees who are ‘effective for the sake of Ukraine’.

In turn, the head of the SBU, Vasyl Maliuk, assured that the Security Service of Ukraine always keeps its word and fulfills its promises.

‘On this symbolic day, we not only evaluate our results, but also set new goals,’ the SBU chief stated.

According to him, for more than two years, the SBU has been hitting the enemy painful blows targeting the Crimean bridge, warships in the Black Sea, tanks, anti-aircraft defense systems, oil refineries and other facilities that work for the Russian military industry.

‘We conduct special operations on land and at sea, covering hundreds of kilometers, bring war criminals to justice, repel cyberattacks, detain agents and traitors. We are doing everything to make the enemies realize that they are doomed on our land, and retribution for all crimes committed and every destroyed life is inevitable,’ Vasyl Maliuk concluded.
