Ukraine reinforces defense lines near Zaporizhzhia – regional governor

Ukraine is building second and third defense lines around Zaporizhzhia region, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov. In his interview for a national TV,  he revealed that thhe military completed construction of the first line of fortifications in mid-summer.

The governro stressed the effort can help turn Zaporizhzhia into a “fortress”, adding that the defense lines are being given constant upgrades that will include not only structures that protect from guided bombs and artillery but alos anti-drone protective elements like nets.

Construction on the second defense line nears completion while the third line  of defense should be operational within weeks. The military rolled up their sleeves to finish work to meet the deadlines set by Ukraine’s General Staff.

To commemorate the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion, “Bukvy” has compiled data on the largest donors supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them there are charitable foundations and businesses. The list includes, in particular, foundations that provide assistance exclusively from their own resources, without fundraising (such as SCM by Rinat Akhmetov, Epicenter, etc.).
