Ukraine is set to receive close to €4.1 billion in funds after the EU Council greenlighted the second regular payment of grants and loans under the EU’s Ukraine Facility. The move is set to prop up Ukraine’s “macro-financial stability and the functioning of its public administration”.

The decision adopted on Monday will see the funds sent to Kyiv “as soon as possible, given the difficult fiscal situation” in the country.
In May 2024 the Council concluded that the Ukraine Plan fulfilled the preconditions for Ukraine to receive up this hefty funding under the Ukraine Facility, and in August the first EU instalment was disbursed.
