On June 11, president Volodymyr Zelensky announced that in the near future Ukraine expects decisions from allies regarding the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense.

The Ukrainian army may receive additional Patriot air defense systems.

Answering a question about the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, Zelensky noted that negotiations are currently underway for the supply of ‘two or three more complexes’. He did not specify which allies he was talking about, however, he noted that the issue would be agreed upon ‘in the near future’.

‘We expect a positive result in the near future regarding two or three systems,’ the president stated.

During the press conference, he also expressed gratitude to the German government for providing the Defense Forces with the Patriot and Iris-T systems.
