The Ukrainian air command confirmed information about the downing of the Russian A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft and Il-22 air control center.

In addition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi shared a video from the radars.

‘Thanks to the Air Force for the excellently planned and conducted operation in the Azov region,’ General Zaluzhnyi wrote.

It was previously reported that on the evening of January 14, in the sky over the Sea of Azov, the Ukrainian air defense shot down a Russian A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft and damaged an IL-22M bomber.

Later, Yurii Ihnat, the press officer of the Ukrainian Air Force, posted a photo of the damaged IL-22.
