Ukraine’s air defenses shoot down 5 enemy drones overnight on August 15

Ukrainian air defense said on Friday they successfully intercepted several targets after Russian forces launched a missile and drone attack in the early hours of August 16, .

According to Mykola Oleschuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia used three “Iskander-M” ballistic missiles and five drones—three “Shahed” type drones and two more of an unidentified type—launched from the Kursk region.

Ukrainian mobile fire teams and electronic warfare units managed to shoot down all five enemy drones over the Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.
