Ukraine’s Armed Forces Jul.3 report: Russian troops try to break frontlines at Ocheretyne

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported 136 combat engagements on July 3.

Russia continues to hammer Ukrainian communities with airstrikes. On Tuesday, it launched 41 airstrikes and used 58 guided bombs and 457 kamikaze drones while Ukrainian troops dealt with at some 3,000 artillery attacks.

The Kharkiv region saw six major attacks by Russian forces, backed by air support. The most intense fighting took place at Vovchansk, where Ukraine ‘firmly’ controls the combat situation.

Today’s fighting proved costly for Russia – it has lost 144 personnel and 77 pieces of military equipment, including tanks, artillery systems, vehicles, and a fuel depot. The damage assessment is still ongoing.

Kupiansk communities remain under siege. Near Synkivka, Ukrainian forces have repelled five attacks, with one combat engagement  still raging. They also foiled two attacks near Stelmakhivka.

At Lyman, Russia launched 16 attacks across four local communities. Enemy forces are focusing their efforts near Hrekivka and Terny.

There is no lull in hostilities at Siversk. Russian attempted to push Ukrainian units out of Ivano-Dariivka, Spirne, and Vyiimka – five attacks have been pushed back.

In Kramatorsk, eight enemy attacks near Chasiv Yar and Klishchiivka failed. Fighting continues in three areas near Kalynivka, Ivanivske, and Chasiv Yar.

The Toretsk situation is particularly volatile, with 24 attacks reported near Deliivka, Toretsk, Pivdenne, New York, and Pivnichne. Fighting continues in nine areas.

The Pokrovsk region has seen a significant escalation in hostilities as Russia launched 43 assaults to break Ukrainian lines at Ocheretyne. Ukrainian forces have repelled 31 attacks, with 12 combat engagements still ongoing. Over 350 enemy soldiers were killed or wounded today.

At Kurakhovo, 11 combat engagements took place. The enemy’s efforts to advance near Heorhiivka and Paraskoviivka failed while, five more attacks were repelled near Krasnohorivka.

At Prydniprovske, four assaults were fended off, with no Ukrainian positions lost to the enemy.

The situation remains stable at the other areas of the front lines.
