During his Monday meeting with Ukrainian brigade commanders, Chief Commander Oleksandr Syrsky revealed that the army is facing a “critical shortage” of short-range anti-aircraft missiles.
The situation is intensifying near Pokrovske, with intense clashes occurring in Krasnohorivka, Progress, Zalizne, Pivnichne, and Chasove Yar. Russian forces are actively targeting Stelmakhivka and Makiivka, as well as launching assaults on Ukrainian positions in Ivanivka and Klishchivka, while attempting to seize islands along the left bank of the Dnipro River.
To enhance defenses, Ukrainian troops, according to Syrsky, need to focus on a ‘complex’ destruction of enemy frontline positions, maintain fortified defensive lines, and ‘optimize’ the utilization of weaponry and ammunition.
Syrsky emphasized the critical role of combat drones amid the shortage of short-range anti-aircraft missiles, adding that electronic warfare tools and FPV drones need to be employed to “neutralize” enemy reconnaissance drones.
