Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense is rolling out a new project aimed at “transforming its defense management system”.

During its final meeting on Monday, the project leaders led by Ukaine’s defense ministry discussed its launch, which was made possible thanks to “support from international advisors from the US, Canada, the UK, and Lithuania”.

Defense deputy minister Ivan Gavrylyuk said Ukraine now has tools to plan effectively and forecast long-term needs as “adapting quickly is crucial in wartime to secure necessary resources”.

The project focuses on effective integration of a wide range weapons and military equipment provided  from international partners. It will also introduce an automated inventory system for these arms.

Another deputy minister Stanislav Gaidar pointed out that “the revamped planning, programming, budgeting, and execution processes will not only streamline operations but also align Ukraine’s defense capabilities with NATO standards”.

Key achievements of the project include:

  • Developing a new architecture for defense capability programs
  • Updating the planning and budgeting model
  • Establishing a project management framework
  • Creating a comprehensive defense management system model and implementation roadmap

In related news, the Ministry of Defense has recently signed two major contracts with Ukrainian defense firms worth nearly 5 billion hryvnias. These deals were finalized during a working visit by President Volodymyr Zelensky and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
