Thirty six thousand people now work in Ukraine’s Territorial Recruitment Centers, and  7,000 of those are civilians, said Ukraine’s defense ministry spokesperson Dmytro Lazutkin on Thursday. Only 3,000 out of their military personnel are women, and many of them are classified as “partially fit” for service.

Earlier this week, a special parliamentary committee recommended to disband these centers and form at least 10 new brigades out of their employees. Ukrainian MP Yulia Yatsyk backed the idea, arguing the recruitment officers could reinforce the units in combat zones.

Another Ukrainian lawmaker Roman Kostenko begged to differ arguing such recruitment  centers are vital for the country’s mobilization campaign. He went even further saying Ukraine needs to lower military enlistment age as people are ready for military service once they turn 20.
