Ukraine’s embassy reacts to display of Ukrainian movie at Russian film festival in France

The Embassy of Ukraine in France reacted to the display of Serhiy Parajanov’s film ‘Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors’ within the framework of the Russian film festival in Paris and Taverny.
The Ukrainian embassy appealed to the competent authorities of France in this regard, in particular to the Ministry of Culture.
‘Culture continues to be cynically used to legitimize Russian aggression. It is known that for years this “Russian film” festival relied on the support of the Russian authorities. It is obvious that, despite the seemingly formal change of emphasis by the organizers, their methods remain largely unchanged,’ the statement says.
According to Ukrainian diplomats, the screening of ‘Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors’ at the Russian film festival is cultural appropriation.
‘I am an Armenian who was born in Tbilisi and was in a Russian prison for Ukrainian nationalism,’ Parajanov once said.
Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest Group has completed the construction of an upgraded underground NATO Role 2 hospital in one of the hottest sectors of the frontline. The list includes, in particular, foundations that provide assistance exclusively from their own resources, without fundraising (such as SCM by Rinat Akhmetov, Epicenter, etc.).
In just 1.5 months, Ukrainian specialists have created an innovative protective shell for the control modules of anti-aircraft missile systems (AMS) Patriot and Iris-T SLM. This development was another step in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, aimed at protecting key elements of the air defense system from debris damage.
