Ukraine’s General Staff confirms strike on oil depot in Rostov

The Ukrainian military were behind the attack that caused a massive fire at the “Atlas” oil depot in Russia’s Rostov region on August 28,  according to Ukraine’s General Staff.

The oil depot was set ablaze by a drone strike making Russian offiicials deploy firefighting trains to containg the flames.

The strike was executed by units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with other Defense Forces personnel.

In two separate attacks, Ukrainian troops  also targeted the “Zenit” oil depot in the Kirov region and an ammunition depot of to Russia’s “Zapad” Military Group in the Voronezh region. The results of these operations are still being assessed.

The General Staff said that Ukrainian troops continue to cause havoc to the “military-economic capabilities” of the Russian army to bring an end to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
