Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) rescued 16 soldiers of three different miltary units after they were surrounded in Russia’s Kursk region.

The mission was carried out by the 73rd Marine Center troops who made a daring raid into the Kursk region at 2 a.m. to ‘extract the group of soldiers from the encirclement’.

Planning and execution of the plan took them 2 hours.

“We swooped in on Humvees, loaded our comrades, and headed back,” said one of the operatives, called Bruce, who took part in the rescue.

During the mission, the evacuation team came under heavy fire from enemy tanks, intense machine gun attacks, and assaults involving FPV drones. Despite the danger,  the operation proved to be a success, and saw all 16 soldiers safely evacuated from the danger zone.
