Ukraine’s lawmakers failed to remove the ‘Servant of the People’ MP Maryana Bezuhla from the security and defense committee after her fellow party members staged a walkout during a crucial committee meeting on Tuesday.

The maneuver threw a wrench in the vote allowing the Servant of the Party MPs to prevent removal of Bezuhla, admitted her fellow lawmaker Serhiy Yevtushok.

“The ‘Servants’ came up with a dramatic walkout disuptiong the quorum and preventing any action.”

The situation got a wry response from another senior MP, Yaroslav Zheleznyak  who revealed  that the ruling party lawmakers had wanted to remove Bezuhla three times but each time they stayed away from the vote.

“Looks like someone .. can be handed an Oscar for the Best Role for shooting themselves in the foot,” said Zheleznyak
