Goodbye to Daylight Saving Time? The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has voted to cancel the practice of switching between summer and winter time. The news came on Tuesday from the lawmaker Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The move to axe the long-debated policy received overwhelming support with 261 deputies voting in favor. It marks a significant change in the country’s timekeeping practices. According to Zheleznyak, Ukraine will make one final switch to winter time this year and it will stay that way thereafter.
“This means that this year, on the last Sunday of October (the 27th), we will put back our clocks to winter time, and from 2025 onwards, there will be no more switching to summer time,” Zheleznyak explained.
