On June 2, the chair of the Ukrenergo board Volodymyr Kudrytskyi reported that next week the situation in the energy system of Ukraine will be more difficult than in the last days of May.

Kudrytskyi explained that the worsening is caused by three factors. Two units of nuclear power plants will undergo planned repair work. The latest Russian attacks on May 31 and June 1 caused significant damage to energy objects.

In addition, the hot weather will cause the increased use of air conditioning systems.

The official explained that the Ukrainian grid may experience capacity deficit, which will lead to the introduction of scheduled outages.
