Utility company worker caught spying for Russian troops in Mykolaiv – SBU

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has arrested a worker of the state utility company in Mykolaiv after he was found spying for Russian forces in the city. The 43-year-old man with pro-Russian sympathies was recruited by an FSB officer who oredered him to track Ukrainian troops movements and positions.
The suspect used his personal vehicle to snoop on potential Ukrainian military sites and tried to ferret out information from his friends and collegues.
During a search, SBU officers seized the man’s mobile phone, which contained a Telegram channel through which he had been communicating with Russian operatives.
The suspect faces espionage charges under Article 114-2, part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
