The Verkhovna Rada fell 21 votes short of removing Maryana Bezuhla from her position as deputy chair of national security committee, according to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak. The decision to remove the Servant of the People MP known for her scathing critique of Ukrainian military chiefs received 205 votes.

Interestingly, 124 of those votes came from the “Servant of the People” faction. Zheleznyak shared a screenshot of the voting results.

“This was an old motion, №10391, which would have removed her as Deputy Chair of the committee, but she would have remained a member of the National Security Committee. So, even this relatively weak motion was blocked,” wryly noted the lawmaker.
