Volyn tragedy: Poland is ready to begin exhumations “in 24 hours”

The Polish Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) said its workers are ready to begin exhumations in Volyn  “in 24 hours” once they have formal approval from Ukrainian officials.

IPN head Karol Nawrocki said that his insitute has filed nine requests for such work since 2017 but there were no approvals granted.  He argued the institute’s can handle such campaign even despite the ongoing war in Ukraine.

“We are waiting for an official approval for it” added Nawrocki.
