Zaluzhnyi and Budanov awarded ‘Hero of Ukraine’ decoration

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the decrees awarding General Zaluzhnyi and General Budanov ‘Hero of Ukraine’ honor.

‘For outstanding personal merits in the protection of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: Award the title of Hero of Ukraine to Zaluzhnyi Valerii, the general,’ the decree says.

Yesterday, president Zelensky dismissed General Zaluzhnyi from the position of the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army.

General Budanov was awarded for ‘personal courage and heroism, shown in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people’.

General Budanov is the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the defense ministry.
