On Friday, Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant teetered on the edge of a blackout again after Russian shelling knocked out one of the two power transmission lines connecting the plant to Ukraine’s unified energy system.
“Today, due to hostile shelling, the Zaporizhzhia NPP is operating on just one power line connected to the Ukrainian energy system. Repair efforts will begin as soon as the security situation allows. Safe operation of the plant is only possible under Ukrainian control,” said Herman Halushchenko, Ukraine’s energy minister.
The Zaporizhzhia plant faced similar circumstances in November when it had to rely on a single power line after enemy attacks.
Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value. In other words, every Ukrainian, buying goods of any value and purpose abroad, when sending them to Ukraine, will have to pay an additional fifth part, or 20% of the cost of the goods.
