On June 24, president Volodymyr Zelensky appointed the new head of the State Security Administration of Ukraine – Colonel Oleksii Morozov.

The president noted that the main task of Morozov is to ensure that ‘exclusively patriotic professional people who connect their fate exclusively with Ukraine’ work in the department.

He also added that the Administration now needs to modernize its structure and operations to ensure compliance with the wartime requirements.

According to the president, the new head has ‘carte blanche for change’. In particular, Zelensky called for the development of new approaches to work with personnel, to increase the level of combat and mobilization readiness of personnel, and to develop new approaches to recruiting personnel.
