President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed the law on a common roaming zone with the European Union.
Draft Law No. 10265 was adopted to fulfill one of the conditions of Ukraine’s European integration in the field of electronic communications.
According to the law, Ukraine will join the common roaming zone between Ukraine and the EU. Therefore, Ukrainians will receive roaming services in EU countries in the “Roaming like at home” mode.
In practice, RLAH is a service that means that when traveling within the EU, calls, SMS and data are included in the home service package, so roaming services are provided at no additional cost. Users of European operators traveling in Ukraine will also be able to take advantage of the common roaming zone.
The law will also provide advantages for businesses in the field of electronic communications, and it ensures effective cooperation with the European regulators of electronic communications.
