On February 26, the president Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on the demobilization of conscripts.

The law concerns military personnel who completed their military service in 2024 and are on duty during martial law.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law that provides for the demobilization of conscripts into the reserve.

This law amends Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Military Duty and Military Service’. It received the support of 319 members of parliament.

According to this law, servicemen whose terms of service have expired during martial law or those whose service has been extended beyond the established terms will be released to the reserve within the terms determined by the president’s decree. This law shall enter into force on the day following its publication.
