Zelensky’s advisor denies plans to mobilize 18-year-olds

Kyiv is not ready to mobilize citizens as young as 18, according to Dmytro Lytvyn, Zelensky’s communications advisor. The denial of a possible move comes amid growing speculation on social media plaftorms, where people report of young males aged 15–17 being sent abroad to avoid potential conscription.
The swift reaction was promted by recent remarks by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who said earlier this week that Ukraine must make “difficult decisions about further mobilization.” The Biden administration had earlier urged Ukraine to expand its armed forces by allowing conscription starting at 18.
Lytvyn’s statement clearly aims to dispel fears as such a scenario could backfire leading to more self-imposed exiles of young Ukrainians.
Notorious supporter of the concept “in order for a cow to eat less and give more milk, it needs to be fed less and milked more” “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev, under the guise of “business requirements”, registered a draft law on the collection of VAT on all foreign purchases, regardless of their value. In other words, every Ukrainian, buying goods of any value and purpose abroad, when sending them to Ukraine, will have to pay an additional fifth part, or 20% of the cost of the goods.
