Ukraine and Spain start negotiations on security guarantees

The President’s office informed that Ukraine has started negotiations with Spain regarding the conclusion of a bilateral security agreement.
On the instructions of president Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the head of the office Andrii Yermak and in fulfillment of the G7 Joint Declaration on Support for Ukraine, negotiations with Spain on the conclusion of a bilateral security agreement have begun.
It is noted that the parties, in particular, discussed the structure of the future agreement and agreed on a schedule for further negotiations.
On July 12, at the NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 countries agreed on a joint declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.
Other countries wishing to contribute to these efforts aimed at ensuring a free, strong, independent and sovereign Ukraine may join this Declaration at any time.
