Ukraine and Slovakia are accelerating the implementation of three large-scale energy and logistics projects.
The countries are deepening cooperation in passenger and freight rail transportation, modernization of cross-border checkpoints for pedestrian and road traffic, and strengthening the energy security.
The issues of intergovernmental cooperation were discussed by the Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia, Peter Kmec, at a meeting in Uzhhorod.
During the meeting, the parties discussed specific projects that could potentially be implemented thanks to the investment mechanism within the Ukraine Facility program.
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, this will make the energy system of Ukraine more sustainable. In addition, the parties talked about the launch of the Kyiv-Košice passenger railway connection.
