On May 21, Ukraine and Sweden started negotiations on concluding an agreement on cooperation in the field of security.

The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to Sweden for the significant support of Ukraine, in particular the military support, in resisting the full-scale Russian invasion.

Ukraine also hopes for further deepening of bilateral security cooperation with Sweden in all strategic directions, which will be reflected in the bilateral agreement.

It is noted that the parties discussed in detail the provisions of the draft document and agreed on further steps to ensure its finalization and subsequent signing as soon as possible.

On July 12, at the NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 countries agreed on a joint declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.

The G7 leaders noted that other countries wishing to contribute to these efforts aimed at ensuring a free, strong, independent and sovereign Ukraine can join the Declaration at any time.
