On Tuesday, Ukraine’s General Staff said it is imposing strict restrictions on civilian movement within a 20-kilometer zone along the Sumy region’s border with Russia.  It comes in response to  a “surge in combat activity and the increased presence of enemy special operations forces and sabotage and reconnaissance groups”. The General Staff stressed that these restrictions are necessary to protect lives as the intensity of conflict escalates.

Residents within the affected area are permitted to move about only if they present ID documents showing proof of residence in the zone.
