Ukraine can set up military commandant’s offices in Kursk region – Syrskyi

On Wednesday, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting to discuss the situation in the Kursk region. The meeting was attended by key officials, including commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, prime minister Denys Shmyhal, deputy prime minister Iryna Vereshchuk, internal minister Ihor Klymenko, and ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
During the meeting, Syrskyi claimed Ukraine could establish military commandant’s offices in the Kursk region if deemed ‘necessary’.
Vereshchuk and Lubinets offered updates on the delivery of humanitarian aid to the communities in the Kursk region that are currently under the control of the Ukrainian troops.
President Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is conducting active operations on Russian territory “strictly adhering to the requirements of international conventions and international humanitarian law”.
