5 civilians killed, 7 wounded in Donetsk suburbs as Russian troops step up shelling

In a devastating day of violence,  5 people were killed and seven more injured after Russian troops launched  2,725 shelling attacks in the Donetsk region on Monday, according to a National Police report on Tuesday

The relentless bombardment targeted 14 settlements, damaging 32 civilian objects. Among the damaged structures are 18 residential buildings, an administrative office, a business, an educational institution, garages, and vehicles.

In Zarichne, Russian troops used Uragan multiple rocket launchers, killing three civilians and damaging two private homes. In Toretsk, artillery strikes claimed the life of an elderly woman, injured three others, and caused damage to one of the houses.

The city of Siversk was pounded by Grad rocket fire, resulting in one death and one injury. The barrage of attacks damaged seven homes. Meanwhile, two more people were injured in Chasiv Yar, and one in Selydove.

Overnight, Russian attacks extended to Pokrovsk, Myrnograd, Hannyvka, and Serhiivka, damaging 11 civilian objects, including five residential buildings, an educational institution, a cultural center, a café, agricultural machinery, and vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties among the residents in these communities.

The police have evacuated 3,426 individuals, including 302 children. Since the start of mandatory evacuations, a total of 215,593 people have been evacuated, including 25,503 children and 7,555 individuals with disabilities.
