Russian troops have executed 93 Ukrainian prisoners of war on the frontlines, with 80% of these cases occurring this year, according to Prosecutor General’s Office.
“We now have information on the deaths of 93 of our soldiers who were executed directly on the battlefield,” said prosecutor Yuriy Bielousov who leads War Crimes Department.
He also argued that there is clear evidence that treatment of Ukrainian captives by Russia has “worsened’ since November,2023.
On October 3, another jarring video showing the execution of another Ukrainian POW started to circulate on Telegram channels. According to Bielousov, Ukrainian prosecutors keept a track of such cases. “We immediately registered another criminal case together with the SBU’s main investigative department.”
