In September alone,  Russian troops employed weaponry containing dangerous chemical substances 250 times against Ukrainian soldiers.  The grim figure was revealed by Ukraine’s General Staff on Tuesday.

“The enemy is using munitions filled with hazardous chemical agents such as K-51 and RG-VO, which are crowd control tools and prohibited for use in warfare. Additionally, a significant portion of the munitions contains dangerous chemical compounds of an unspecified type,” said the General Staff in its statement.

Since February 2023, the use of chemical weapons by Russian forces has become systematic, reaching  a total of 4,228 recorded incidents.

“This grossly violates the rules of warfare and disregards the norms and obligations of the Chemical Weapons Convention regarding the prohibition of development, production, stockpiling, and use of chemical weapons and their destruction,” concluded the General Staff.
