Russian senior military pilot Dmitry Golenkov was reportedly found dead in the border region of Bryansk on Sunday.  As a chief of staff of the aviation squadron of the 52nd Heavy Bomber Air Regiment,  Golenkov allegedly played a significant role in missile strikes against Ukraine that caused numerous civilian casualties.

Authorities discovered his body in an apple orchard in the village of Suponevo, near Bryansk.

Ukrainian military intelligence claims that Golenkov was involved in several deadly attacks on Ukrainian civilian sites. Among these was the missile strike on the “Amstor” shopping center in Kremenchuk on June 27, 2022, which tragically claimed the lives of 22 people and injured dozens more.
