Ukrainian farmers finishing winter crops campaign

Ukrainian farmers have already planted over 5.4 million hectares with winter crops, said  the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Winter grains cover around 4.33 million hectares nationwide, while winter rapeseed spans over 1 million hectares, with 11 regions already finishing their rapeseed planting.

Here’s the breakdown:

• Winter wheat: 3.8 million hectares
• Winter barley: 421.3 thousand hectares
• Winter rye: 62.5 thousand hectares
• Winter rapeseed: 1.048 million hectares

Ternopil has finished its winter grain planting while the regions of Volyn, Chernihiv, and Poltava are leading in winter grain planting volumes. Specifically, Volyn has 161.1 thousand hectares (97.3%), Chernihiv 193.2 thousand hectares (97.2%), and Poltava 238.2 thousand hectares (95.8%).
