An overnight drone attack that targeted Kyiv in the early hours of Wednesday has become the 19th such assault on Ukraine’s capital in October. Air raid alerts wailed for over two hours as drones were coming from various directions. Air defenses intercepted the drones, yet falling debris caused damage in the city’s Solomianskyi district.
It caused a fire in an apartment building, injuring nine people, including a child. Emergency services had to evacuate 18 residents.
Elsewhere in Solomianskyi district, an office center caught fire, followed by a rupture in the local gas pressure reduction station. Fire crews extinguished the blaze and repaired the gas leak without any reported injuries. Debris also damaged a kindergarten in the same area.
