Russian drones hit Mykolaiv in a devastating assault in the early hours Monday killing four people dead and triggering fires in residential buildings across the city.
The air raid alarm went off at 12:58 am, followed by several powerful explosions that shook the city awake. Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, quickly reported the scene. “We have fires in residential buildings, and all emergency crews are on-site,” he wrote on Telegram.
Mykolaiv’s Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych confirmed the attack involved drones, which caused widespread damage in several neighborhoods. “Once again, the Russians targeted our city with drones,” he wrote, echoing the community’s frustration.
Initially, reports mentioned two fatalities and one injured woman, but the casualty count later rose to four.
