During the defense industry conference DFNC1: US Edition, the Ukrainian side signed a memorandum with the US Department of Defense on cooperation in joint production and exchange of technical data.

The document should contribute to developing the production capacity in Ukraine to provide the Armed Forces with the necessary weapons. In particular, it includes the production of the critically needed ammunition.

The memorandum establishes an approach that provides for the further interoperability of the Ukrainian systems with the systems used by the NATO countries.

‘Ukraine is the only country in the world that is fighting a full-scale war against an enemy that has a powerful industry. For us, the question of survival is the creation of a military industry that matches the scale of the enemy’s industrial capacity. We need a strong Industrial Coalition to join forces in the fight against Russian terror,’ said Ukraine’s defense minister Rustem Umerov.

He also noted that next year the Ministry of Defense will allocate an unprecedented budget for the development of defense production.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine expects further signing of agreements on the localization of production with a number of large American companies producing weapons and military equipment.
