Poroshenko calls on EU countries ambassadors to support negotiations on Ukraine’s accession

The former president of Ukraine and leader of the ‘European Solidarity’ party Petro Poroshenko took part in a meeting with the ambassadors of EU countries.

During the meeting, he called on the ambassadors to to support the beginning of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and 50 billion euros financial assistance.

The former president called on all European capitals to take a constructive, responsible and fair position regarding the opening of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, the launch of a 50 billion euro support mechanism for Ukraine, strengthening of the sanctions against the Russian aggressor, and support for the mechanism of using Russian frozen funds for the purposes of Ukraine’s restoration.

He also emphasized that the decisions of the European Council will be a test of the real unity and solidarity of the EU with Ukraine in these difficult times and a response to the 10-year heroic and sacrificial struggle of the Ukrainian people for a democratic European future.

‘The situation at the front and internal political events in Ukraine were discussed in detail through the prism of the importance of ensuring national unity, democratic stability and reforms in order to fulfill the criteria for membership in the EU and NATO, ‘ Petro Poroshenko stated.
