On January 3, Ukraine returned 230 people from Russian captivity. Among the prisoners of war who returned home, there defenders of Chornobyl power plant, Snake Island and Azovstal.
The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the United Arab Emirates provided assistance for the exchange.
‘This exchange had been in preparation for a long time. The United Arab Emirates directly participated in the organization, and with their help we were able to do it,’ Budanov said.
The Security Service of Ukraine made public an exclusive footage of the swap.
