Losses worth UAH 10 billion, – defense minister

Minister Rustem Umyerov said that over the past four months, violations worth more than 10 billion, committed earlier, were discovered in the defense ministry. He assured that the ministry closely cooperates with the law enforcement to ‘eradicate manifestations of corruption’.

‘One of the priorities of the Ministry of Defense team is to clean the system – inside the institution and outside… The system resists, but we will overcome it,’ Umerov said.

The minister informed that the internal audit has already revealed previous violations worth 10 billion UAH.

He also noted that they are currently working to solve the problem systematically: they are implementing a new procurement architecture based on the NATO standards.
