The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers opposed the participation of the representative of Russia Maria Gelman in the jury of the World Press Photo 2024 competition and demands to exclude her from the jury.
Gelman is among the five members of the European jury who will evaluate, in particular, Ukrainian photographers.
The UAPF appealed to the management of the competition with an “insistent demand” to change the composition of the jury and exclude the representative of Russia.
The UAPF considers Gelman’s participation illogical. In addition, it may affect objectivity in decision-making during the evaluation of participants’ works.
