Petro Kotin, the president of Energoatom, reported that the damage caused by the Russian occupiers at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant amounts to 30 billion hryvnias.
In addition, the unrealized benefit of Energoatom is more than UAH 167 billion.
Since the beginning of the Russian occupation, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe has experienced eight blackouts. The equipment at the ZNPP continues to degrade, and Ukrainian personnel work under constant pressure from the illegitimate management and representatives of Rosatom, fear of abuse and torture.
The IAEA does not fully monitor the situation at the plant, as experts are not allowed into most of its production facilities.
Damages caused only during the capture of the station – destroyed and damaged property and infrastructure by the occupiers – reach at least UAH 30 billion.
The final amount of damages can be established only after the de-occupation of the ZNPP and full assessment of the situation.
