6 regions see their energy sites attacked over past 24 hours- Ukraine’s energy minsitry

Energy facilities across six regions came under attack on September 12 as Russia keeps crippling Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The attacks targeted civilian energy sites in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions, according to Ukraine’s energy ministry.

In Donetsk, air raid sirens led to the shutdown of power lines, cutting off several substations, households, and even mines. The evacuation effort saved 277 miners who were trapped underground when the power went off.

In Zaporizhzhia, shelling damaged a power line, though the region experienced no downtime.

Odesa faced outages as well after as a power line leaving residential consumers without electricity.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, a nighttime drone attack damaged an industrial facility. A power line was disconnected as firefigthers were trying to contain the flames at the scene.
