A dust storm that have blown from Russia is blanketing several Ukrainian regions, creating a dark haze. This weather phenomenon will smother Ukraine until Friday, when wind patterns are expected to shift to the south and west.

Dust clouds have affected regions like Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy, where residents are facing hazy conditions but could also experience an influx of carbon monoxide combined with smoke drifting from the northeast.

In Zaporizhzhia, visibility is limited to 3-6 kilometers after strong southeastern winds carried the dust over from Russia.

Experts warn that these conditions will likely continue until at least October 3, according to forecasts from the European Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service.
