Kyiv plans to construct a waste-to-energy facility

The concept of energy sustainability of Kyiv, in particular, provides for the creation of two thermal power plants that will operate on combined fuel and use high-calorie fractions of waste.

For large cities, the use of waste-to-energy facilities solves two problems at once – energy shortage and the problem of garbage accumulation. This practice is widely used in European cities.

Kyiv authorities have studied the experience of Lviv that has already introduced European approaches to the waste-to-energy facilities.

Kyiv representatives agreed with Lviv colleagues on further interaction in this area and exchange of experience for the most rational use of waste as an energy source.
