MP Mariana Bezuhla resigns from Servant of the People party

In a dramatic move just days after she was ousted from the parlimaentary committee, the member of the governing party Maryana Bezuhla she was resigning from the “Servant of the People” faction.

The news was announced at the Vekhovna Rada session on Wendesday after she filed her resignation papers.

According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak,  ‘Servant of the People” party’s membership now stands at 233.

Reacting to the news, Iryna Herashchenko, co-chair of the “European Solidarity” faction, said Bezuhla would keep her seat becoming an independent MP.

“She was elected in a single-member district. Therefore, this does not mean she loses her mandate. Bezuhla remains an MP,” Herashchenko wrote.

Maryana Bezuhla has recently been a center of controversy over her criticisms of Ukrainian military leadership
